Data Retention

We retain personal data to fulfill the legitimate business need for which the personal data is collected (such as to provide you with the Services), to comply with legal obligations (e.g., tax, accounting), to resolve disputes, to enforce agreements, aggregate statistics, and other operational purposes.

The criteria we use to determine how long to retain personal data include:

  • The length of time for which we have an ongoing relationship with you or your Sponsor of Services and provide Services available to you (for example, for as long as you have an account with us or keep using the Services);
  • Whether there is a legal obligation to which we are subject (for example, certain laws require us to keep records of applicable transactions and medical records for certain periods of time before we can delete them); and
  • Whether retention is advisable considering our legal position (such as for statutes of limitations, litigation, or regulatory investigations).

When HPN no longer has a legitimate business need to process your personal data, we follow our information governance procedures and either delete or de-identify your personal data, or archive and protect it from any further use until deletion or de-identification (anonymization) occurs.
